READ & LEARN ABOUT BANNED & CHALLENGED BOOKS ALL YEAR LONG
Each month a trusted author, librarian, or trusted book professional will choose a book that has been challenged and/or banned somewhere in the United States. In the box will be information explaining what the fuss is all about and information to help you engage in necessary discourse about the book, book-banning, AND easy-to-act materials to help your voice be heard.
Docere means "teacher" in latin and what better name for this cool gal who is here to share the information you may need to engage in discourse with your community. Docere symbolizes the many interns from local colleges, booksellers, and the thousands of hours of research done, bringing you the most up-to-date information on banned books, so you don't have to look any further! Docere is our collective spokesperson!
WORDS IN ACTION could not be made possible without the help of our curating authors, librarians, and book professionals. Each box's curator is personally investing in the work against book banning in the United States and around the world! We will share the curating authors when available but often it will be a surprise! Park Books, our parent bookstore, will be offering 20% off all curating authors' books for those seeking to expand their collections. Some authors who will be curating are Cassandra Clare, Julia Quinn, Victoria Aveyard, Dhonielle Clayton, Jarrett Krosocszka, Nita Prose, Nikki Payne, and Brigid Kemmerer to name a few!

Choose whether you want 1, 2, or 3 books per month.
You can choose an adult book box, a middle-grade box, or a picture book box...OR, you can select a combination of the 3!
Check-out
Pay for your first month and then the box will
auto-renew for you each month on the 15th of each consecutive month.
Read. Learn. Act.
Boxes go out at the end of the month. Each edition comes with the books you've subscribed to (adult, middle grade, or picture book), and information about the book and the ban. Our goal is to empower readers to take a stand against book banning. Sign the postcard or letters inside or use the materials as a template to advocate for banned books and their authors.
